Flight Operations Careers
Flight Operations
The Jet Linx Flight Operations department manages day-to-day flight operations, including flight crewmembers, alongside other roles such as System Chief Pilots, Crew Records Assistants, Flight Attendants and Base Chief Pilots that also contribute to mission success. Other departmental functions outside of operating aircraft include INDOC training, recurrent training, checking and establishing manuals, completing checklists, records review, maintaining operating standards, evaluating crew performance and more. Flight Operations offers a structured and supportive environment, with team members asked to find ways to continuously improve operations, systems and methods.
While Jet Linx has well-defined levels of experience and skill for pilots, other candidates in department roles must possess a high competency in communication, organization, and compliance to ensure that Jet Linx crewmembers follow correct company policies, procedures and standards while continuing to comply with FAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of 14CFR Part 91, 125 and 135 training programs is required, as well as strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Potential roles within the Jet Linx Flight Operations department include all Flight Crew, Records Analyst, Operations Specialist, Air Hostess, Training Coordinator, Director of Operations, System Chief Pilots, Base Chief Pilots, Base Safety Coordinator and more.
Flight Coordination
The Flight Coordination department operates out of the Jet Linx National Operations Center in Omaha, Nebraska (with remote opportunities available). The goal of Flight Coordination is to monitor and review the company’s daily flight schedule to ensure each flight complies with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Duties generally include day-of-trip operational and administrative functions, including assessments of all operational aspects such as airport/runway conditions, curfews, facility amenities, and other reservation requirements. Team members will also coordinate with ground crews to plan current-day trip logistics such as de-icing, hangar rentals, crew meals, fuel purchasing and more.
A member of the Flight Coordination department will possess strong cross functional communication skills, attention-to-detail and relationship building skills. Flight Coordination is a fast-paced department and working overnight, weekends, and taking on-call rotations may be required. Roles also require previous Part 135 experience with high volume or a large fleet size. The Flight Coordination department offers a diversity of roles with many opportunities for advancement.
Available roles may include Flight Planning Specialist, Flight Services Specialist, Flight Control Specialist, International Operations Specialist, Senior Capacity Planning Specialist, Operations Analyst and more.
Revenue Management
The Jet Linx Revenue Management department consists of three closely aligned teams including Fleet Optimization, Charter and Capacity Management. While each team performs different functions their overall goal remains the same: making flight schedules as efficient and profitable as possible while adhering to the highest standards of safety and service. Team members within Revenue Management must be creative, agile problem-solvers with excellent communication skills and an openness to change, as no day is the same and solutions to problems often change. Roles in the department also require a strong communicator and an individual that is team-oriented, as Revenue Management works closely with all departments and teams throughout the country.
The Fleet Optimization team’s primary goal is to optimize the company’s private jet fleet schedule while paying specific attention to base financial goals and aircraft hourly requirements. Team members within Fleet Optimization need experience in cost analysis, the ability to multitask and strong attention to detail. Aviation experience is helpful but not required, and training is on-the-job where a candidate is exposed to systems and processes used. Ability to effectively communicate with outside vendors and internal teams is required, as well as the ability to work non-traditional hours.
The Charter department’s primary objective is to grow charter revenue on Jet Linx managed aircraft to ensure that the fleet continues to fly when Jet Card Members or Aircraft Owners are not using planes. Using deep connections within the private aviation industry, the Charter department works closely with wholesale brokers to sell hours in Jet Linx aircraft. Charter team members must be highly motivated to sell and can work independently and effectively in remote settings. A well-rounded knowledge of the Jet Linx business model is required, as well as the ability to think outside the box in negotiating and prospecting for business.
The Capacity Management team largely consists of more senior Jet Linx team members that have experience in Charter or Fleet Optimization. A strong understanding of the operational workings of the company is required, as well as deep understanding of the broader aviation industry, supply and demand, and how to maximize efficiency related to filling flights and generating revenue. The Capacity Management team maximizes fleet capacity to support fluctuating demand and accomplishes this by balancing impacts from maintenance and crewing to determine placement of aircraft for forecasted flight demand. Understanding of crew planning, maintenance planning, revenue management, and strategic initiatives is required.
Potential roles within Revenue Management include Fleet Optimization Specialist, Charter Support Specialist, Capacity Program Manager, Charter Sales Manager, Charter Sales Advisor, Crew Coordinator and more.
