A Special Sendoff at Jet Linx Atlanta

Our teams see awesome private jets every day — it’s part of the job. But the Jet Linx Atlanta team saw a special landing last month: three Blackhawks from 10th Mountain Division were diverted due to weather and landed at Jet Linx Atlanta.

“This is the mountain-trained division for the Army,” said Tami Reynolds, Client Services Specialist. “They were the first in Afghanistan; that’s the environment they train in.”

The group was traveling from Fort Drum in New York to Fort Polk in Louisiana when weather diverted their flight. Jet Linx Atlanta had space on the ramp and welcomed them with open arms, Supplying the High to the guests during their hour-plus delay. “The training at Polk has no creature comforts whatsoever,” Reynolds explained. “It’s like — sleeping in tents, under your aircraft, so we wanted to give them as many creature comforts as we could before they left.” “We brought them some snacks, and they used the lobby and watched TV,” added Chandler Hartley, Client Services Specialist.

“We put together a Jet Linx treat basket, and they came back and gave us one of their patches,” Reynolds said. “It’s like coining somebody: if you don’t have a coin, you give a patch. It’s like gold.” Coining is a military tradition, given to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale.

The Atlanta team was thanked again when the 10th Mountain group took off. “They showed off a little for us,” said Natalie Snodgrass, Client Services Specialist. “How they departed was like for a mission: they did a formation and it was a cool send off.”

“It was such a treat to see them send off in formation. I might’ve been a little too excited,” Hartley said with a laugh.
