Building Community, Not Selling a Commodity
Jet Linx has earned a sterling reputation in the skies, but team members are also proud to make a difference on the ground. Each base location across the country partners with different charities and organizations, from Boys & Girls Clubs to Humane Societies. Jet Linx seeks to touch down within communities at each local terminal. All in all, Jet Linx is involved with 116 charitable organizations throughout 18 different bases.
Jet Linx regularly allows charities to hold galas and auctions inside of our private terminals. Jet Linx Scottsdale hosted a gala for the New Way Academy in 2017, which raised more than $200,000 for the nonprofit educational organization. In the past, Jet Linx St. Louis hosted a fundraiser for the World Pediatric Project which raised nearly $70,000 with a crowd of 300 in attendance.
Why does Jet Linx go the extra mile to host events like this? It’s because our Base Presidents are key community members and respected leaders in their locales. It’s not uncommon for a Base President to sit on multiple boards at one time, offering professional services outside of their own working hours.
St. Louis Base President, Rich Ropp, has made numerous medical mission trips to Ecuador and Haiti, and has hosted numerous events at his private terminal to benefit organizations such as the World Pediatric Project. Denny Walker, who founded Jet Linx in 1999, was responsible for launching the Teammates mentoring program in Omaha with Tom Osborne, Nebraska football coaching legend and longtime college friend. Many team members at the National Operations Center spend one hour or more per week mentoring young children across the city of Omaha.
The Jet Linx business model simply works best when the whole community thrives, not just the local base. Jet Linx is regularly part of local events, from Jet Linx Denver co-hosting a business luncheon with world-famous Chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa to Jet Linx Nashville sponsoring a gala for the nonprofit Nashville Dolphins organization.
In addition to donating time, Jet Linx offers significant financial support to non-profits as well, from direct charitable giving to silent auction items and other fundraising efforts. Last year, the company donated over $340,000 to various causes, including nearly $50,000 to The Tutu Project, a spirited non-profit that seeks to support patients and their families facing breast cancer with the expenses of the disease not covered by insurance.
