Celebrating International Women’s Day

Women make up 47% of the U.S. workforce, yet are vastly underrepresented in aviation. They hold less than 20% of most aviation jobs, with even smaller percentages in key roles like pilots, maintenance technicians, and leadership. This disparity extends to the highest levels, where women hold few C-suite and CEO positions.

At Jet Linx, we aim to create an inclusive workplace where all team members can participate, contribute, and be valued for their skills and perspectives. Over 33% of Jet Linx’s nationwide leadership is female, with many building decades-long careers at the company. We proudly maintain ties to Women in Aviation International, International Girls in Aviation Day, and local educational non-profits. Our local teams host, sponsor, and participate in events with these organizations, and many female Jet Linx pilots individually engage with local Ninety-Nines chapters and similar organizations.

Jet Linx remains committed to building a stronger, more diverse aviation workforce by listening to and learning from the underrepresented voices in our community. So, to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, we posed a simple question to women in various roles across the country.

If you could write a letter to the next generation of women in aviation, what would the first few sentences say?

To the next generation of women in aviation: Don’t be afraid to let your voice be heard—your ideas and your perspective are valuable, no matter the challenges you may face in an industry that’s still finding its way to embrace you. Your ideas, your ambition, and your leadership belong in the cockpit and the boardroom.
