My Home Base – Missy Kemp, National Operations Center
In each edition of My Home Base, we feature a member of the Jet Linx team from across the country and showcase what they feel makes their Jet Linx location and their city special. In this edition, meet Missy Kemp, Jet Linx Aviation Client Services & Training Manager.
Favorite part of your job:Â Getting to work at the local bases with my team. Travel (especially commercial) can be tough – but seeing them in their element and meeting the clients & other base staff is so motivating.
Describe the Jet Linx team in one word:Â Committed.
Favorite Jet Linx memory or experience:Â Meeting the clients. I started as a Client Services Specialist in Omaha, and the one thing I miss most is the interaction with the clients on a daily basis. When I do the base visits, I get to put faces to the names I hear about, and get to help the team enhance an experience. Sometimes I even see some of my old Omaha clients flying into a different base I am visiting – that is always a good time!
Favorite thing in Omaha:Â The people. Omaha is a very friendly city – it’s not hard to make a new friend while sitting at a restaurant or out taking a walk.
Fun fact about yourself:Â I love the outdoors. I would rather stay in a tent than a hotel! Since I was little- animals, bugs, plants, trees, rocks/gems- anything outside has been a passion of mine.
What might someone find surprising about your job:Â We don’t get to fly privately very often. It’s the first question people ask when I tell them where I work. If we had empty aircraft flying around all of the time, we wouldn’t be doing a very good job We all fly commercially.
